Byrd Sanchez

Stating his claim as a staple in the Jacksonville community, DJ Byrd Sanchez has been steadily building a kingdom as a party rocker, record breaker and tireless promoter. He has brought his melodic sounds throughout the state of Florida. He seamlessly segues from boom box classic hip hop to smooth R&B alongside timeless soul heroes and heroines and splashes of reggae dancehall riddims.

Born in Perry, Florida, Byrd Sanchez has spent all of his life in Jacksonville. Starting as a mic man (MC) is how Byrd really got into the DJ scene. It wasn't until the head DJ of the company decided to take a different path before Byrd actually starting DJing. When this took place one of the promotional managers compared him to Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets. At that time Mark Sanchez was a rookie in the NFL and the starting quarterback of his team. The promotion manager said Byrd was the Mark Sanchez of his team, a rookie with a team that was counting on him. There came Byrd Sanchez. Starting as just a mic man, Byrd was now at the forefront of the company with only a 3 week window to practice. But in typical Byrd fashion, he took on the task and prepared for his road to success.

His first show as a DJ was the grand opening of Bourbon Street Nightclub in Jacksonville, FL, opening up for B.E.T.'s own DJ Q45. Byrd had finally tapped into something he could use to be his release, music. "I want to show people within those few hours at an event how much music means to me. I want them to leave with that same feeling." says Byrd. Byrd is a very versatile DJ, from DJing shows with Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Dorrough, Plies, Rick Ross, Trina, and Wale. He has also done huge arena shows that have starred T.I, and Miguel, as well as The Heart and Soul Tour in 2009 which was hosted by, Doug E. Fresh and featured the Ohio Players, Mint Condition, Cameo, and headlined by Charlie WIlson. He also provided the soundtrack for the Triple Threat Tour in 2010 with Chrissette Michelle, Marsha Ambrosius, and headlined by Tank.

A person is only as strong as the team he has behind him. Byrd's team consists of his manager, Adonis Glass and Roger Harewood. He is also heavily supported by the promotional company he works for, Point Blank Entertainment and Crown Capitol Group, owned and operated by Ivory Orr. Byrd's goals span from continuing to provide a musical experience to clubs all over the U.S. and abroad and one day having a syndicated talk show on the radio. "That will be my way to keep in touch with what matters to the people" , says Byrd. By continuing to better himself as a DJ and his constant work ethic, he is surely on his way to achieving that.
