The Beautiful Boy star, 23, appeared on French talk show Quotidien earlier this month and lip-synced to Mariah Carey’s new song “Giving Me Life,” featuring Slick Rick and Blood Orange.
Chalamet bopped along to the subdued pop track and even threw in some arm movements as the crowd clapped along.
“Mariah Carey: legend,” the Oscar nominee told host Yann Barthes.
Chalamet’s knack for lip-syncing shouldn’t come as surprise to his fans. Before breaking out with 2017’s Call Me By Your Name and Lady Bird, Chalamet rapped as Timmy Tim (sometimes Little Timmy Tim), covering songs like Nicki Minaj’s “Roman’s Revenge,” while attending performing arts high school in New York City.
“I’m never going to live this down,” Chalamet said on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2017. “This is going to follow me everywhere.”

In addition to his appreciation for the “We Belong Together” singer, 48, Chalamet has expressed his love of other musicians like Cardi B, Mary J. Blige and Kid Cudi, who the actor considers his “rap idol.” Chalamet even got to meet Cudi, 35, backstage when he traveled to Montreal from New York City to see the “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper in concert at age 17.
“He really inspired me to be an artist in a lot of ways, which sounds cheesy,” Chalamet recalled to Corden.
