Jacksonville, Fl — Coming off our first 100 degree day of the year, morning temperatures are humid and very warm.
Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says temperatures this afternoon will climb to the upper 90s inland. The beaches will stay in the upper 80s to low 90s with an onshore wind developing.
Feels like temps will be 105-108 this afternoon. You really have to pay attention and respect the heat today if you have outdoor plans or work outside. Take plenty of breaks in the shade or A/C and stay hydrated.
Scattered showers and storms will develop along and west of I-95 by 1 to 2 pm. The storms will produce locally heavy rainfall, some lightning, and the potential for a few wind gusts. The storms will generally shift south and west through the afternoon. This will allow for the greatest rainfall totals to be away from the coast.
Scattered showers and storms are likely Saturday as well. Highs will be held to the upper 80s to lower 90s for the weekend.
Sunday will also be humid and warm with temperatures near average and midday/afternoon storms.
TROPICS: The First Alert Weather Team is tracking a tropical wave over the far Eastern Atlantic. There is some potential for development by early next week as it moves west. No local threats through the weekend.
