Offset announces release date for sophomore solo album

(Note Language) After teasing fans with singles "Code" and "54321," Offset has announced the release date for his as-yet-titled sophomore solo album.

Taking to Twitter Wednesday, the rapper randomly shared a date -- 11/11/22 -- on his account and followed up with a tweet that clarified that's the day he'll be dropping his second record.

Offset's new album will arrive nearly four years after 2019's Father of 4, his debut solo LP. Aside from Moneybagg Yo, who is featured on "Code," he's collaborated with the likes of Metro BoominSouthside and wife Cardi B for the project. He's hoping to one day work with a rapper he considers to be a GOAT emcee in his hometown of Atlanta: André 3000.

During an interview with Complex, Offset directed a message to 3 Stacks: "André, I done sent you three songs," said the Migos rapper. He noted "you gotta be selective" when choosing tracks for André, as he only jumps on "certain songs," and generally praised his musical genius.

"I love his taste," Offset said.

Offset's new album will see the rapper discuss struggles relatable to the everyday person.

"When I came in, we came out the trenches, so that's what people want to hear, because that's what people go through every day," he previously told SSENSE. "Ain't nobody driving a Wraith."

He continued, “[In] Black culture right now, and the world in general, the poors outweigh the rich one thousand percent. So you gotta talk about s*** that’s going on in real life. Just the real content of what people see every day. Go back to that.”
