Offset hospitalized after car crash

Offset hospitalized after car crash with minor injuries.

His Dodge Challenger however, was totaled.

Via TMZ:

We’re told he’s already been released and is expected to be okay. His car … not so much.

Our sources say  Cardi B  rushed to be by her fiance’s side after she heard about the accident.

According to law enforcement, no cops or emergency medical workers were called to the crash scene, and no accident report was taken. Offset’s wrecked car was towed away afterward.

It’s unclear at this point if anyone else was involved — but that seems unlikely since no one called police.

Money Moves: Joe Budden inks a TV Show deal with P. Diddy’s Revolt TV

Money Moves: Joe Budden inks a TV Show deal with P. Diddy’s Revolt TV.

Via Billboard:

“Finally, Joe Budden is officially part of the REVOLT family,” says REVOLT chairman Sean “Diddy” Combs. “Joe has an authentic approach and he’s never afraid to speak the truth. His many talents deserve a platform that pushes the culture forward and we are excited to produce next-level content with him.”

Last year, Budden departed from his role as co-host of Complex’s Everyday Struggle. Once Budden announced his decision to curtail his relationship with the media company, he began fielding offers, most notably from Combs and REVOLT. With this new partnership, Budden will host, create and produce State of the Culture, which is slated to premiere this summer.

“It was important to partner with a company that recognizes the growing need for our voices and ideas to stream freely without interruption. That was a much prettier way to say, we bout to be with the shits,” Joe Budden tells Billboard. “Thank you to my business partner Ian Schwartzman and REVOLT for the opportunity to highlight my brutal honesty, passion and integrity.  I love REVOLTING!! Together, we will continue to take this thing to heights unseen.”

According to REVOLT, State of the Culture will look to “deliver raw, unfiltered, and informative debates and interviews where Budden digs deep with prominent celebrities, artists and personalities.”

“We are excited to launch a new era of REVOLT content with Joe Budden,” adds REVOLT CEO Roma Khanna. “This is just the beginning of more great things to come as REVOLT leads from the center of hip-hop culture.”

Willow Smith shocked her mom Jada with revealing she used to cut herself after the success of ‘Whip My Hair’

Willow Smith shocked her mom Jada with revealing she used to cut herself after the success of ‘Whip My Hair.’

Via Love B Scott:

Willow Smith says she lost her sanity during the peak of her childhood fame.

On the second episode of “Red Table Talk,” Willow, her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Jones openly discussed loss. When asked about her biggest loss, Willow disclosed something that she had never told her family about.

“I would have to say … honestly I feel like I lost my sanity at one point,” the 17-year-old singer and model said.  “It was after that whole ‘Whip My Hair’ thing and I just had stopped doing singing lessons and I was kind of like, just in this gray area of, ‘Who am I? Do I have a purpose? Is there anything, like, I can do besides this?’”

Willow released “Whip My Hair” in 2010 and it skyrocketed Willow to make — she was just 9-years-old.

She continued:

“After the tour and the promotion and all of that, they wanted me to finish my album,” Willow added.  “And I was like — I’m not gonna do that. And after all of that kinda settled down and it was like a kind of lull, I was just listening to a lot of dark music, and it was just so crazy and I was just like plunged into this black hole, and I was, like, cutting myself.”

Jada and Adrienne couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

Willow said she had never told anyone except for one friend and even showed her mom an old scar on her wrist.

“I never talk about it because it was such a short, weird point in my life, but you have to pull yourself … out of it,” she said.  “I honestly felt like I was experiencing so much emotional pain, but my physical circumstances weren’t reflecting that.”

We have to commend Jada for her compassionate reaction to Willow’s revelation. We can’t imagine that, as a mother, hearing your daughter say she used to cut herself is easy.

Cardi B and Offset have been sued by a fan who claims he got beat up by their security.

Via TMZ:

Giovanni Arnold claims he was at The Mark Hotel just after 2 AM on May 8 — outside a Met Gala after-party — when Cardi walked out and shouted at him, “F*** outta here n****, I will slap the s*** out of you.”  He says he “expressed disappointment with being ignored.”

Arnold says shortly after Offset, who was trailing behind his fiancee, said, “Shut up, bro, before a n**** beat you out here.”

According to the lawsuit, filed by Daniel Szalkiewicz, Arnold says he tried de-escalating the situation, but within seconds 3 bodyguards attacked him. He says he didn’t fight back. All he did was lie on the ground and try to protect his body.

He went to a hospital and says he suffered injuries to his face, neck, back and body.

Cardi’s team claims Arnold was super aggressive and obnoxious.

Say what! Tidal accused of not paying royalty payments to three different record labels

Say what! Tidal accused of not paying royalty payments to three different record labels.

This is not good at all if true.

Via Complex:

According to a  report form Music Business Worldwide, who also reported on the manipulation claims, Norwegian publication Dagens Næringsliv ran a story Wednesday alleging that the streaming service is “significantly behind” on its royalty payments to rights-holders. Specifically, the report claims, Tidal is behind on payouts to three major record companies.

“It is correct that there are delays in payments from Tidal,” Sveinung Rindal, CEO of the Sony-backed Phonofile, reportedly said.

Though Tidal has not yet committed on this latest report, they previously characterized the publication’s general tactics as a calculated attempt at sullying their reputation. “This is a smear campaign from a publication that once referred to our employee as an ‘Israeli Intelligence officer’ and our owner as a ‘crack dealer,’” a rep  said after the stats manipulation claims were made. “We expect nothing less from them than this ridiculous story, lies, and falsehoods. The information was stolen and manipulated and we will fight these claims vigorously.”

Dagens Næringsliv later  doubled down, claiming that Tidal had reduced payments to artists from 62.5 percent to 55 percent.

We’re told when she woke from the procedure, Liziane could barely breathe and docs discovered she’d developed a blood clot in her lung, so they decided to place her in a coma. A friend of Liziane’s took to her Instagram page to let her fans know something had gone very wrong during the surgery.

Gutierrez tells us she was in the coma from Wednesday until Monday, when docs finally felt she was healthy enough … she says she’s still dizzy, but happy to be alive.

A women’s advocacy group wants Spotify to pull Chris Brown, Eminem and other artists from curated playlists

A women’s advocacy group wants Spotify to pull Chris Brown, Eminem and other artists from curated playlists.

Via Billboard:

Women’s advocacy group Ultraviolet is applauding Spotify’s new policy banning hate content and hateful conduct that has brought with it high profile removals of R. Kelly and XXXTentacion from curated playlists, but in an open letter published Monday (May 14) is also asking for more.

As well as R. Kelly and XXXTentacion, the letter written by Ultraviolet executive director Shaunna Thomas requests that Spotify take action against other artists who have been accused of sexual misconduct, including Chris Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nelly, Eminem and others.

“Every time a famous individual continues to be glorified despite allegations of abuse, we wrongly perpetuate silence by showing survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence that there will be no consequences for abuse. That has a cultural effect far beyond one individual artist,” wrote Thomas.

She added that Spotify’s action demonstrates the company “is following the lead of Black women who demanded that these two men, who have sexually and physically abused women for years, not be promoted and celebrated.”

Ultraviolet hopes the open letter will inspire other music platforms to follow in Spotify’s footsteps.

LHHATL Tommie Lee has been ordered to wear an alcohal monitoring device

LHHATL Tommie Lee has been ordered to wear an alcohal monitoring device.

This is a new condition on her bail from her two cases that are open in Fulton County, Georgia.

Via TMZ:

The judge handed down the order Friday … along with a warning not to drink any alcohol until her cases are resolved.

We’re told the device — which detects alcohol consumption through sweat every 30 minutes — is not provided by the court, so the $400-500 monthly cost comes out of Tommie’s pocket.

It could have been worse for her, though — we’re told prosecutors pushed for getting her bond from her  2016 DUI arrest  revoked due to her recent arrest for an alleged  mall employee attack  … but the judge opted for the alcohol monitoring instead.

It’s unclear when Tommie’s scheduled to be back in court … but stay tuned.

Chris Brown friend denies rape allegations

Chris Brown friend denies rape allegations.

Via TMZ:

Lowell Grissom Jr. is the man Allred’s anonymous client claims raped her twice during the party. The allegations are pretty graphic — in her lawsuit, the woman says Grissom grabbed her out of a bathroom and raped her. Then later, found her in a laundry room  and raped her again.

But Grissom’s attorney Anthony Willoughby tells TMZ … the matter was fully investigated, and his client’s name was cleared. He says, “Lowell vehemently denies these false and defaming accusations originated last year, ending with no arrests, no proof, an inconclusive rape kit and after a police investigation — no charges filed.

He adds, “This civil lawsuit is a blatant attempt at a money grab and to harm the reputation of my client while encouraging PR noise for Gloria Allred while she exploits this young woman for her own financial gains and public persona.”

Grissom’s attorney says they’re confident they’ll win the case.

Oop!

Spotify is removing R. Kelly’s music from fearured playlists and they aren’t promoting him either.

Via NYDN:

Kelly’s music will remain on the site for people who want to seek it out, but will not be found on any existing or future playlists like New Music Friday or RapCaviar.

“We are removing R. Kelly’s music from all Spotify owned and operated playlists and algorithmic recommendations such as Discover Weekly,” a rep for Spotify said in a statement.

“His music will still be available on the service, but Spotify will not actively promote it. We don’t censor content because of an artist’s or creator’s behavior, but we want our editorial decisions — what we choose to program — to reflect our values.”

Rihanna’s house was burglarized and the suspect actually spent the night

Rihanna’s house was burglarized and the suspect actually spent the night.

Via TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell us authorities were dispatched to RiRi’s L.A.-area home Thursday morning after her alarm company notified police of a potential intruder on suspicion that her alarm had been tampered with. Once officers arrived, they came upon a man who appeared to have stayed the night.

We’re told cops ordered the man to come outside, and he did … but had to be tased while being detained. It’s unclear what exactly led to the tasing.

The good news … Rihanna was not home during the alleged break-in. No word on if anything was taken, or how the man might’ve gotten inside. Law enforcement tells us he’ll be booked for residential burglary.

Here we go: Chris Brown has been sued by a woman alleging rape and false imprisonment and also claims that she was forced to perform oral on a menstruating party guest

Here we go: Chris Brown has been sued by a woman alleging rape and false imprisonment and also claims that she was forced to perform oral on a menstruating party guest.

What the …

Via TMZ:

The alleged victim is suing as a Jane Doe, and claims she was invited to a party at CB’s house in February 2017 where he supplied cocaine, molly and weed … during what sounds like a scene from “Caligula.”

In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Doe says an unnamed female friend of Chris’ forced her and a few other women into a bedroom, and blocked the door with a couch. She says her phone had been taken away earlier in the night, and Brown’s friend forced women to hook up with Chris and another man, named  Lowell Grissom.

Doe, who’s hired  Gloria Allred , says she tried to leave, but Chris’ female friend grabbed her by the throat and forced her to perform oral sex on Grissom. Doe says the female friend then pushed her down on the bed and “literally sat on [her] face, using her legs to pin [her] down while forcing [her] to perform oral sex on her.”

To make matters worse, Doe says the woman was menstruating. Doe says she went to the restroom and saw her face covered in blood. She says while she was showering, Grissom entered the restroom and she tried to leave, but he pushed her on the bed and raped her.

During a news conference Wednesday, Allred said this was “one of the most horrific sexual assault cases” she has ever seen.

According to the suit, Grissom later held her against a washing machine, and raped her again. She says she went to a rape treatment center and reported it to police.
