A genre-fusing producer, songwriter, and vocalist from Nigeria, Pheelz has achieved success with his solo material as well as his work behind the boards for artists such as Olamide, Teni, and Fireboy DML. Known for his passionate, danceable blend of R&B, pop, and hip-hop, he emerged on the scene with several productions for Olamide beginning in 2011, and has continually racked up Producer of the Year nominations from the Headies (winning in 2020), Nigeria Entertainment Awards, and other ceremonies. He released Hear Me Out, his debut EP, in 2021, and broke through as a solo artist with his 2022 single "Finesse," which topped several charts throughout Africa as well as the U.K. Afrobeats survey. A second EP, Pheelz Good, arrived in early 2023.

Phillip Kayode Moses was raised in Lagos State, and he started singing in church as a child. After attending high school, he worked with ID Cabasa, founder of the Coded Tunes label. He then began working with label signee Olamide, appearing on the rapper's 2011 debut Rapsodi and producing the majority of 2012's YBNL. Pheelz' debut single, "Hustle," appeared in 2012. Subsequent work with Olamide garnered Pheelz nominations for Producer of the Year at the Headies, Nigeria Entertainment Awards, and City People Entertainment Awards for several years. He released several singles throughout 2015 and 2016, including the Olamide-featuring "Son of Abraham" and "I.J.N.," and worked with artists like Seyi Shay, Runtown, and Mr Eazi. He produced multiple tracks on Fireboy DML's 2019 debut album, Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps.

In 2020, he was named Producer of the Year at the Headies for his work on Teni's Billionaire EP. He also released the amapiano-influenced single "One Life." Pheelz produced several songs on Teni's 2021 album WONDALAND, and also released his Hear Me Out EP the same year. Pheelz's song "Finesse," featuring Nigerian singer Bnxn, was released in 2022. The song went viral and topped charts in nearly a dozen African countries, also reaching number one on the U.K. Afrobeats Singles chart. Remixes featuring Bounty Killer and French Montana were released, as well as additional Pheelz singles "Electricity" (featuring Davido) and "Ballin." These singles made up the heart of his 2023 EP Pheelz Good, which he followed with "YOLO" and "JELO." The latter track featured Young Jonn and appeared on the four-song Pheelz Good (Triibe Tape) that November. ~ Paul Simpson
