Jacksonville FL — Tuesday is Election Day across Florida and if you still need to vote in Duval County, there will be some changes with precinct locations to keep in mind. Supervisor of Elections Mike Hogan says since the 2020 election, the county has reduced the number of precincts from 199 to 186. Hogan says at those 13 locations there will be workers there to let anyone know where they need to go if anyone shows up on Election Day.
“If you’re voting on Election Day you have to vote at your precinct. So that’s very important”. Hogan says.
The best way you can see where you need to go is on your voter ID card, mailed to you a few weeks ago, on your sample ballot, or you could check online. Hogan says you will need a photo ID with a signature when you vote Tuesday. The most common ID used is a valid driver’s license.
Hogan says turnout for this election is still expected to be around 29 or 30%, but the rain in the forecast Tuesday could play a factor.
“That sometimes impacts, negatively impacts voter turnout”. Hogan says.
Also if you have received a mail-in-ballot, but did not receive one, you are still eligible to vote Tuesday. You will need to go to your assigned precinct.
On Election Day polls will be open from 7 AM until 7 PM.
