TYLER, Texas — Police are investigating after a toddler died in a hot car on Friday afternoon in Tyler, Texas, authorities said.
According to WOAI, the incident occurred about 4 p.m. outside a North Church Avenue home. Tyler police arrived to find an unresponsive 3-year-old boy locked inside a vehicle, KLTV reported. Emergency crews broke a car window to get inside but could not revive the boy, authorities said.
It was not immediately known whether authorities had charged anyone in connection with the case.
The child was the first to die in a hot vehicle this year in Texas, according to WOAI.
